rebuilding the war memorial
The War Memorial in Miami Springs was erected with the help of the Miami Springs American Legion Post 117, and dedicated May 23, 1945. While the monument was refurbished in 1953, and has undergone additional minor updates over the years, it is long overdue for a significant update. We are proud to report that update is well underway. For those who wish to honor their loved ones with a personalized memorial on the site, sponsorship opportunities are still available, and begin for as little as a $50.00 contribution to the project fund. At this time, all bench sponsorships have been secured, and no more are available. American Legion Post 32 is spearheading a Community Effort to honor and remember all those who took the oath "to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." Architectural drawings and site renderings (see above, right) have been prepared on a pro-bono basis, thanks to Southeast Design & Associates.
