WOC Robert T. Anton
Army Warrant Officer Candidate Robert T Anton lived at 670 E. 6th Street in Hialeah, and graduated from Miami Springs Senior High Class of 1968. Robert was killed February 18, 1969 near Fort Wolters, Texas while training to become an Army chopper pilot.
He was flying an OH-13G Sioux (the type of helicopter in the opening sequence of the TV Show MASH) when he sustained a midair collision with another pilot in training, WOC William R. Eversole. He was 18 years old. He was survived by his wife of less than 3 months, Nancy Lee Teijeiro Anton (another MSSH alumna), his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Anton, as well as 3 brothers and 1 sister. Robert is interred at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery.
